The West Suburban Fire District, formerly the Loretto Volunteer Fire Department and the Hamel Volunteer Fire Department, and Maple Plain Fire Department are three distinguished departments dedicated to protecting and serving the community.
On July 1, 2023, the Loretto and Hamel departments officially merged and marked a significant milestone in our shared commitment to provide prompt and effective fire protection services. The merged department, now named the West Suburban Fire District, is led by experienced fire service professionals from both departments. On January 1, 2026, Maple Plain officially merged as well.
