The West Suburban Fire District is seeking to fill the full-time position of Deputy Chief. This is a new position for a growing organization.

Our focus is our people. As the Deputy Chief, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, managing personnel, and ensuring the effective delivery of fire prevention, suppression, and emergency response services. The Deputy Fire Chief must demonstrate strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of firefighting practices, and a commitment to community safety. We are seeking candidates for this position that share a desire for personnel
development and the ability to prioritize the needs of others.

The WSFD covers just over 75 square miles, with three stations, and 75 personnel. This position is a critical component of the department’s growth and preparation for the future.

The starting salary is expected to be between $100,000 and $125,000, DOQ. A benefit package includes a pension with Police and Fire PERA, health care insurance, Paid Time Off & Sick Leave, and Paid Holidays.
