Did you know July is the peak month for grill fires in the United States?
A few numbers worth knowing as we head into summer:
• 16,600 people visited emergency rooms in one year due to grill-related injuries
• Failure to clean the grill is a leading factor in one out of five grill structure fires
• Gas grills contribute to more home fires overall than charcoal grills
• Having something flammable too close to the grill plays a role in nearly 1 in 5 fires
The good news: most grill fires are preventable. Clean your grill, keep your distance, and never leave it unattended.
